It wasn't all that long ago that Fortnite was confirmed for a Mac release, with the folks at Epic Games taking the stage at Apple's WWDC conference. The developer briefly showed off a demo of the PC tower defense/base-builder hybrid. Now that demo is available for all to see.

In this demo, you can see the tower defense elements of Fortnite, as Epic's Billy Bramer kills some enemies and builds a safety perimeter before they can infiltrate his base. The idea is to keep the forces of the Storm at bay, while protecting the precious core inside.

For those that missed the WWDC demo, the whole thing can be seen in the video below. For more on Fortnite, check out our hands-on impressions. The beta is set to kick off later this year on PC and Mac.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
