E3 2015: FIFA 16 adds FIFA Trainer and refined mechanics

With FIFA at the top of the video game soccer world, innovation can be challenging, but FIFA 16 will attempt to do so with the new FIFA Trainer mode.

EA continued its sports portion of its E3 2015 presentation by showing FIFA 2016, because if anything can make anyone momentarily forget all the trouble FIFA is in, it's the latest video game.

Legendary soccer player Pele was brought on stage to speak about the beautiful game. The topic then turned to the game itself, which includes refined defensive maneuvers, midfield controls, and a new FIFA Trainer mode. This is all in addition to the Women's National Teams that will also make their franchise debut.

FIFA 16 is set to release on September 22 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
