If you missed the first weekend for the Splatoon Global Testfire event, Shacknews would like to take this time to remind our readers that there's a second round of multiplayer testing set to take place today. In fact, it's about to start at 3PM PST and run until 4PM PST.

Splatoon's Global Testfire event will test the game's multiplayer servers, as teams of four duke it out over rounds of Turf War. Keep in mind that while killing opponents helps, the main objective in Turf War is to splatter as much of the stage in your color of paint as possible.

Be sure to download the necessary software from the Nintendo eShop. Remember, this is your last chance! If you miss this event, the only way to keep Splatooning is to pick up the game itself when it releases on May 29. Before jumping in, be sure to check out Andrew's breakdown of the weapons below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
