Johnny Cage and Kenshi returning in Mortal Kombat X

Mortal Kombat X will welcome back Johnny Cage and Kenshi as playable fighters when it's released.

The roster of Mortal Kombat X continues to grow with every passing day, and today, we’re hearing classic Mortal Kombat fighters Johnny Cage and Kensi will be making a return to the series as playable fighters.

The confirmation of Johnny Cage and Kenshi’s return comes from NetherRealm Studios senior producer Adam Urbano. Urbano also mentioned what Cage’s role will play within the game’s story mode.

“You'll get to play as Johnny Cage, but we're also showing Cassie Cage, who is the daughter of Sonya and Johnny," Urbano said. "You'll get a chance to see Kenshi and a chance to see a couple more.”

I had no doubt more classic Mortal Kombat fighters would be returning to Mortal Kombat X, but hearing confirmation from Urbano himself is certainly the icing on the cake. I hope it isn't too long until we hear what other fighters we'll be able to choose from the upcoming fighter.

maybe a Lee Adama thing going on, at some point Raiden is all "GET YOUR FAT ASS OUT OF MY OFFICE" and then we get an awesome 80s training montage and cage slims up

Is it really a surprise to anyone that they're "returning" all of the good characters?

Not really. It's still strangely kinda exciting. The game looks great, I'm sure the story will be surprisingly good cheesy fun like the last one.
