The alternate version of Jago known Shadow Jago is about to undergo his next metamorphosis for the next Killer Instinct patch. The 2.3 update is set to arrive this Friday, not only bringing the herald Omen to the roster, but also introducing a large number of balance tweaks. Iron Galaxy has detailed those changes today.

Some of the system changes include adjustments to health healing rates, projectiles taking priority over throws when hitting on the same frame, and removing "deadbody" infinites. There are also several bug fixes that address gravity values, Ultras, and unbreakable combos.

Meanwhile, Omen is also set to debut after previously being unveiled as Season 2's bonus character. His story is that he was the spirit that possessed Shadow Jago, but has now collected enough energy to break free and become his own combatant, acting as a herald for Gargos, who KI fans will remember as the Big Bad for Killer Instinct 2. Omen will be available for anyone that purchased any of the season packs and will not be available a la carte. He'll hit the Season 2 Ultra Edition this Friday, while those that picked up the Season 2 Combo Breaker pack will be able to scoop him up on February 5.

For those that missed the Omen trailer last weekend, it's now avaiable for your viewing convenience below. And yes, it comes with the tease for the next character, which appears to be a new original character in the form of a huge rock guy. Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
