Far Cry 4 must 'Escape from Durgesh Prison' today

Far Cry 4's first substantial piece of DLC is available today, in which solo players or co-op buddies must race against time to escape from the wretched Durgesh Prison.

Haven't had enough of eagles pecking your face or honey badgers tearing your enemies to shreds? Shacknews certainly hasn't, considering that Far Cry 4 finished as a strong runner-up for our 2014 Game of the Year crown. There's still more Far Cry 4 action to be had, though. This is a friendly reminder that Far Cry 4's Escape from Durgesh Prison DLC is available today, adding another new piece to the game's story.

The single-player/co-op DLC will see Ajay and Hurk imprisoned in Yuma's prison, left without weapons or supplies. They can earn some of their supplies by completing Pagan Min's challenges, but they're also racing against time. Players will only have 30 minutes to complete the campaign. At the end, a parade of Yuma's forces stand between our heroes and the extraction point.

Escape from Durgesh Prison is available now for $9.99 or as part of Far Cry 4's Season Pass. For more, check out the video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
