Theatrhythm Dragon Quest gets first trailer, but no North American confirmation

Theatrhythm Dragon Quest got its first official trailer in Japan, but it did not come with any indication that it would be coming to North America just yet.

As promised, Theatrhythm Dragon Quest has received a formal reveal and its first official trailer. What it does not have at the moment, however, is confirmation for a North American release.

The trailer below shows many of the same Theatrhythm principles that made the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy series such a pleasure for fans. The rhythm-based gameplay is intact, sprinkled in with gameplay from various Dragon Quest games.

However, while a March 26 release date was given for Japan, there is still no sign that it will hit North American shores. Given the Dragon Quest fanbase, though, an announcement is expected in the coming months.

In the meantime, enjoy the trailer and the music below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
