Final Fantasy Type-0 HD trailer prepares for invasion

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD looks to be one of the darker iterations of the FF series, if the latest trailer is any indication.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD looks to be one of the darker stories to bear the Final Fantasy banner. That much has been apparent after our most recent preview. Now Square Enix is looking to hammer home its dire narrative with a new story trailer.

The trailer debuted yesterday during the opening day of Paris Games Week. It establishes the planet Orience, which is under siege by the militaristic Miltesi Empire. The Dominion of Rubrum must rally together and fend off the invading forces, making sure to protect their magic crystal. The trailer also establishes the central premise of Class 0, a group of 14 heroes that use their unique powers to take out the massive opposing army.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will release on March 17 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Also, keep in mind that the package will include the Final Fantasy 15 demo.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
