Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are continuing to roll out new Mega Evolutions for the upcoming Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. On top of getting four more Megas to play with, fans will soon get a chance to try out a demo of the Ruby/Sapphire remakes on October 21.

As one might have expected, the Legendary Dragon-types Latios and Latias are getting a Mega Evolution. They're also going to have a few new tricks that will change up the standard mode of fast travel. Both Pokemon will have a Soar ability that allows trainers to literally ride on their backs as they travel across the Hoenn region. Trainers can perform tricks, hairpin turns, and also reach heights that the standard Fly ability cannot. Reaching Mirage spots will allow players for the rarest of Pokemon, including Legendaries like Lugia, Ho-Oh, and others. Latios and Latias can only be obtained along the region's Southern Island, accessible only with an Eon Ticket item, which is not available through normal gameplay. Details on how to obtain the Eon Ticket will be revealed in the future. As for battles, the Dragon/Psychic-type Mega Latios and Mega Latias will retain their Levitate ability and receive stat boosts across the board, making them potent additions to any lineup.

Other Megas revealed include Mega Pidgeot, giving a new twist to the standard Pidgey evolution. Mega Pidgeot will get a major Special Attack boost and can make the most of Pidgeot's new Hurricane attack. It will also have a No Guard ability, meaning it will always land hits without fail.

Beedrill will likewise receive a Mega Evolution. Mega Beedrill will see its Attack and Speed stats soar, while Adaptability will up its Poison and Bug-type attacks by a whopping 150-200 percent. Combining those boosts can make Mega Beedrill a pest to deal with.

No word on what portion of the adventure the demo will contain. However, trainers will get a chance to battle with either Sceptile, Blaziken, or Swampert (the final evolutionary stage of the three starters) and try out their Mega-Evolved forms. Codes can be obtained by creating a free Pokemon Trainer Club account at the Pokemon website before October 19.

But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
