It may be a long way from a final release, but DayZ will no longer be exclusive to PC. Dead 'Rocket' Hall took the stage during Sony's Gamescom 2014 media briefing to announce that DayZ is coming to PlayStation 4 in the future.

More to come...

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Any wagers that it'll run above 20fps?

just what DayZ needs, additional scope creep to fuck up scheduling and implementing. Cool to see it on consoles nonetheless.

I can't say I've been impressed with how the project has been managed and moved forward. Obviously at this point they have enough done and a devoted enough fan base that it doesn't really matter if it takes too long but it's still been a disappointment to me and doesn't reflect well on their abilities in many respects.

I acknowledge that DayZ is very ambitious and has A LOT of content and features yet to be added...

But damn it, Bohemia, finish it on PC before you start porting it.
