Microsoft's Gamescom 2014 media briefing also brought some news about its Forza franchises. In addition to some new cars being revealed for Forza Horizon 2, Forza Motorsport 5 users will also have some free vehicles waiting for them today. Namely, Rolls Royce will join both games as franchise exclusives.

There was also a new trailer for Forza Horizon 2, playing up the game's social features. Players will be able to challenge their friends asynchronously at any time, removing the lobby system entirely. Up to 1,000 players can join a single auto club, both public and private. The game will also feature an online free roam mode, allowing for an open-world playground.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
