If you're a bounty hunter or a Sith Lord, you'll often be on the run, bouncing from one target to the next. But maybe you're just a Jedi Knight that's looking to settle down with a nice little dwelling in the middle of lovely Coruscant. It looks like Star Wars: The Old Republic will give you a chance to live out that dream, with a new trailer teasing the addition of player housing.

The trailer below illustrates a sky-high household filled with player items and droids. It's merely a teaser, so no word on whether players will be able to build their houses on less occupied planets. After all, Sith Lords can't exactly live on the fourteenth floor of a Coruscant apartment complex, can they? I do hear that the ice planet of Hoth has better summers than you might think.

SW:TOR player housing is coming soon.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Is anyone still playing this game? Last I heard, the F2P mechanics aren't that great in this MMO.

I really liked the game, but the f2p conversion killed it for me. Maybe it's fine if you haven't played it originally but everyone I played with who liked it agrees it's shit now.

The original starter planets were the best part anyway, so I'd still check that out fwiw

They've been hemorrhaging players lately, I've heard. To the point of server merges.

This is not true. I have not seen any server merges since they went free-to-play. Tuskin's comment is more accurate. Populations have been consistently high since the free-to-play change.

Pooch was screwed proper when their big space update was simply instanced battlegrounds instead proper open world.

They didn't have a decent end game, pvp, or dungeon finder/lfg system in place which is why it tanked. The leveling up experience for each character was great but that's not what keeps players interested.

so they made a single player game

pretty much, and the areas were all instanced so it never felt very busy.

it reminds me of Kingdoms of Amalur in reverse. a single player game that was made like a mmo.
