Polytron has just announced Fez 2, a sequel to the long-in-development platformer for XBLA and PC. A teaser trailer doesn't offer much except for the fancy new logo. It appears that Disasterpeace is returning for the sequel's soundtrack.

We wonder: what happened to Phil Fish's two other games? You can watch the teaser trailer after the break.

I don't know how he can do that again. There won't be that wonder of discovery like last time.

There could be. Myst was popular because of the sense of discovery it had and I felt like Riven and Uru came close to having that feeling too, despite both basically having the same mechanics as the first game.

Myst was popular because people needed a reason to buy a CD-ROM Drive. I'm pretty sure that was the only reason.

It helped but they did something right if there were 5 Myst games and a spinoff

5 games which sold tremendously well (Uru unfortunately, not so much)

Yes, but it's not a platformer. It just looks like it. It's a very deep puzzle game.

There's like...a pun in there somewhere, but I can't seem to turn it around to see.

Fuck yes, I loved the original. I just hope it had the same sense of discovery as the original.

I do too but I'm ok with this since I loved the first and developing original games as an indie developer has to be incredibly risky. Maybe their next game will be something new.

This seems very uncharacteristic of him... I thought he said he would never do a sequel?

He'll have to develop it for at least four years and win the next three IGF Best of Show awards.
