Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is coming to Mac this Friday, February 22. It will be available directly from the publisher Beamdog at first, but is planning to release sometime later in the Mac App Store. The game costs $19.99.
The Mac version sports the same new features as the already available PC version: new allies, enhanced visuals and controls, The Black Pits arena challenge, and cross-platform cooperative multiplayer. It's available now for pre-order.
"The development of the Mac version of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition has been a longer process than we had planned," said Beamdog president Trent Oster in the announcement. "We strove to create a high quality release for the Mac fans of the series and we feel proud of the current version and feel the extra development time was effort well spent."

Any news if it will be Atari the sole responsible for the App Store release? Feels a little weird there will be such a fast release into the App Store, when the Steam version only got out because Atari did it himself.
How did the iOS port turn out? Were people generally happy with the UI or were there lots of improvements to be made?
I bought it at launch, got killed within 10 minutes of starting out, then filed it as "try again later" and never had enough time again to want to play through it.
