The Last of Us pre-order bonuses revealed
As part of its membership of the AAA video game club, The Last of Us needs to be bundled with pre-order bonuses.
In case you missed the news at the VGAs, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us will be hitting PS3 on May 7th. And, as part of its membership of the AAA video game club, it needs to be bundled with pre-order bonuses. Reservations at "participating retailers" will entitle you to the "Sights and Sounds Pack," which includes the game's official soundtrack, a PS3 dynamic theme featuring the box art (pictured above), and two PSN avatars.
Pre-ordering at GameStop will net you the aforementioned bonus as well as the "Survival Pack," which includes bonuses for the game's not-yet-revealed multiplayer mode. You'll get bonus XP, a melee attack booster, in-game cash, and special skins for multiplayer and single-player.
Here's the brand new trailer from the VGAs, in case you missed it:

I bet I'm going to regret asking this, but how exactly does your point stand? These being pre-order bonuses mean that the publisher is still only getting the customer's $60, so there's no evidence here that "sometimes a customer's $60 is just not enough for publishers." That statement may be true, but evidence for it is not in this article.

You guys should read this: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/11/14/editorial-the-pre-order-heist/
"A huge part of it is about duping customers into committing their money before they can be put off. During the build up to a game it’s all hype. Trailers, screenshots, big campaigns. And the coverage at this point is non-critical, because there’s nothing to be sensibly criticised. ...
Take a look at Medal Of Honor: Warfighter. EA had no reason to believe this would be the game where the rest of the games writing industry finally woke up and realised what a tiresome mess it and all its many cousins are. I’m quite certain they were banking on its being a big Autumn hit for them. And then it received a worldwide panning, with the lowest mark most major sites and mags seem to be able to use – 5 – all over the place. Its Metacritic score has settled at an average of 54. You can bet your bum they were grateful for every pre-order that came in, every person who invested their cash long before they could be warned."-

Also you can always cancel your pre-order. See that the reviews are bad? Cancel your pre-order and get your money back or move it to another game. If you're ordering online like amazon, return the game unopened. The only way you get fucked is if you pre-order a game online through like Steam or Origin and the release day has already come.
