Chatty: Diablo III, Video game complaints

In this week's edition, Chatty discusses yet more Diablo III, video game complaints, and terrible roommates.

You've run out of new stories to read, listened to the latest episode of Weekend Confirmed, and still want more Shacknews? While these threads have expired, you can join thousands of other gamers as we discuss everything from videogame industry news to politics in the Chatty. Make sure you log-in and check your filters if you can't see the following:

Diablo III is still a thing. Since the game has been out a few weeks, minus server downtime, Shackers are trawling the depths of the game to uncover secret goodness, like that of the fabled Whimseyshire. Is traveling there ever profitable though? multisync wants to know whether he should bother with it after normal difficulty, given the expense of upgrading the staff and of late-game armor and weapons in the Auction House. How can you pass up multiple chances to slay rainbow-colored unicorns, multisync?

The Chatty is often filled with rage directed towards the newest games and technology, like this article describing a patent Sony filed that would interrupt your games to show ads. Should you just get over it, rather than blasting away and making your opinion known in the comments? EvilDolemite links to an interesting discussing the future of video games, and the direction things seem to be following. So should you really just get over it? Don't ask me. Vote with your wallet.

Which brings us back to Diablo III. InfoBiter links to an article that explains why you should be angry with Blizzard's always-on DRM. Is this just something you're going to need to just accept in the future? Even with a real money Auction House due, numerous exploits, and character hackings going on? If you care about your character and items, please make certain to install an authenticator on your account.

uebersoldat wants to know about the very first time you played your favorite games. Lots of great games are discussed here, including the awe so many have come to associate with gaming, like Doom, Bastion, and Battlefield 1942. Though it was released in 2002, I'll never forget the first time I stepped onto the bridge of the Galaxy-class USS Dauntless to assume command after the murder of my Captain in Star Trek: Bridge Commander. It was everything my inner Star Trek nerd desired in a game, and everything I hoped Star Trek: Online would turn out to be.

warcrow is heading to E3 2012, and wants to know if you have any questions for some of your favorite developers. What are your E3 predictions? What games are you looking forward to most? Keep an eye on the Chatty and Shacknews for all the latest and breaking gaming news next week!

Would you be willing to pay HBO for a subscription to stream single episodes of a particular series as they aired? Say Game of Thrones? filthysock wants to know your price.

What kind of music do you listen to? Boot up your music archive and post your most listened to song. Why? Because dodob wants to know. I have 1,521 listens to The Dead Men Stood Together from The Cartographer by Republic of Wolves, and 923 listens to Spirit of the Stairwell from Blue Sky Noise by Circa Survive. Don't look at me like that.
