Metal Gear Solid HD features confirmed

Konami has released a list of features for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, confirming 1080p/60fps support, and tentaive plans "worldwide matchmaking"

Although Hideo Kojima has already touted many of the features announced today, Konami has provided a list of features coming to the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. The publisher confirms that the games will run in 1080p at 60 frames per second on both PS3 and Xbox 360, with a "rebalanced" UI for HD. Interestingly, the publisher also notes "tentative" support for worldwide matchmaking, likely for the collection's online cooperative mode. The set will arrive on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year, and the PlayStation Vita in 2012; however, the following features are specific to the console versions. The bundle includes HD versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker along with bonuses such as MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

That is a whole lot of Metal Gear.

I thought it was going to be MGS3: Subsistence, not Snake Eater.

      So...not Substance/Subsistance?

MGS3 will be Subsistance, and I'm fairly sure MGS2 will be Substance.

I was just going to ask. :) I don't see why Konami wouldn't include the expanded versions, but I had to know!

I hope they reworked the camera of MGS2 to make it like MGS3. Or even better, like MGS4.

Why not the first Metal Gear Solid? Just seems to me like it'd make more sense to have all three parts of the Solid trilogy in a single collection.

All they had to do was put in the Twin Snakes version if they were worried about HD.

Kojima doesn't like that version so that won't happen.

It's probably more related to rights than Konima not liking it. I forgot that Silicon Knights made that version.

That too but since he don't like it he probably won't even try. He said the original one is the best version and the version people should play.

If the original is the best version, why did they used the translations from Twin Snakes in MGS4?

They did use the original graphics though.

The voiceovers in the original game were poorly made. The samples were too low (remember this is a Playstation we are talking about) and the recordings were not made in a soundproof room. Twin Snakes voiceovers were high quality enough to survive the jump to another modern console. That the acting was far better done doesn't hurt either.

Kojima likes it, he's perfectly fine with it. Nintendo has IP invested in it and this is the reason you may not see it on another platform.

My guess is that he's going to do another remake of it with it's new engine.
