Shack PSA: Steam indie savings

Celebrating this week's IGF Awards, Steam is running sales on fine indie games including Amnesia, Flotilla, Braid and Bit.Trip Beat.

With the 2011 Independent Games Festival main competition awards winners due to be announced on Thursday, Steam has discounted a number of the finalists, several of which are new to Steam. There are also a few other indie savings to be had because hey, why not?

Summary: Amnesia, Braid, Bit.Trip Beat, Flotilla and more going cheap on Steam. These are good video games.

Does Shacknews not let you put your summaries in his OP? Bloody machines.

I've bought Flotilla twice, once from Blendo then again on Steam, and am quite happy to have done so. It is jolly lovely.

I have. It's fun! I convinced some friends to buy it too. And I think I bought it for MY GF.

I bought it a while back but it wasn't as fun as I'd hoped. Still a good purchase though for the money and it IS made by a Shack dude.

DO NOT BUY DINNER DATE! Let me repeat that. DO NOT BUY DINNER DATE! For one, the game, from start to finish is 15 minutes long and there is no replay value. All you do is sit at a table, alone, waiting for a date to show. The character talks to himself and what he says doesn't change no matter what you do. In fact you could choose to do nothing and the game will play out the same. I was hoping the game was more like Façade and less like watching a youtube video.

If you're not a fan of music games (because that's really what this is, just a different visual format) then it's not for you.

I think it depends on what kind of games you're into. It's like a hardcore Robot Unicorn which is a game I LOVE

really good. sometimes it gets frustrating though when you're trying to beat the same level over and over. i'm stuck on 1-11 right now. i just quit after i lose 4 or 5 times in a row and try again later.

Nightsky is on steam? Nice! I though Nifflas was opposed to putting it on there for some reason.
