Tonight on the program, it's Shantae and the Seven Sirens. What could go wrong exploring a tropical island with a genie?

Tonight on the Stevetendo show, I'm starting a new playthrough of one of my favorite games from WayForward, the developers behind River City Girls and Mighty Switch Force. One that I left out is the star of tonight's playthrough and that's Shantae and the Seven Sirens. I remember playing this at PAX East a few years ago and loved it. The game plays like a Metroidvaina in terms of locating new power-ups to traverse. It also plays like a role-playing game in terms of being able to equip new weapons and skills. Set to go live at 5 p.m. PDT/8 p.m. EDT, find out if our journey will Shantae gets off to a good start or hits a snag?
