Hitman 3 announced for PS5, coming January 2021

The third installment in IO Interactive's Hitman series will land on next gen early next year.

IO Interactive’s Hitman franchise has seen great critical success. Starting with the reboot in 2016, these games have brought new life to the stealthy assassin lifestyle of Agent 47. During Sony’s “Future of Gaming” PS5 reveal event, we got an announcement for Hitman 3, along with a brand new trailer. This is our first official look at the Hitman franchise on the next generation of consoles. 

The trailer for Hitman 3 shows Agent 47, along with his many targets, in a number of different locations. The charm of this new era of Hitman has been its integration of environments. In any level there are at least a dozen ways to conceal or disguise yourself, and just as many ways to eliminate your targets. We expect IO Interactive to take these philosophies to the next level with PS5 and Xbox Series X technology.

Not many concrete details are given that indicate what direction Hitman 3’s story will head, or what new gameplay elements players can expect, but those details will come in the future. IO Interactive’s Hitman 3 is slated to release on PS5 in January 2021.
