Weekend Console Deals for Oct. 4: PlayStation 'Generation' Sale

The very best games of a generation are on sale this week for PlayStation, while Xbox offers the best of their first-party lineup and Nintendo offers a slew of outstanding indie games.

The fall releases are starting to make their way out there, but if you're not ready to dive into some newer games, maybe pick up some more recent games with a pretty good discount. PlayStation 4 is leading the way with the best games to hit in this generation, with the Games of a Generation Sale. If you missed out on Days Gone earlier this year, this is a good time to pick it up on sale, along with a handful of other PlayStation first-party efforts, like Marvel's Spider-Man and Bloodborne.

Xbox is countering with the Xbox Game Studio sale, which offers the very best of Xbox's first-party lineup. That includes Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves, along with Crackdown 3, which released earlier this year. And it's not everyday that you can pick up the Rare Replay collection for cheap, so give it a look.

Nintendo rounds things out with a big Square Enix sale, centered around the best of the Final Fantasy franchise. However, they're also offering up a boatload of outstanding indie games. I'm talking about Guacamelee, Slay the Spire, Overcooked, the SteamWorld games, Golf Story, and so much more. There's something for everyone this week, so enjoy!
