Developer Picroma's upcoming voxel-based action RPG Cube World is finally releasing soon, so if you're looking for a game to get you in the Minecraft groove, you might want to take some time off at the end of the month.

Cube World will finally be coming out after being announced six years ago back in 2013. It's scheduled to debut on September 30. It looks like a charming, procedurally-generated sandbox fantasy game with a focus on open-world adventure. It looks a lot like Minecraft, but different in many significant ways.

The game has been off and on, it seems, with development ever since it was announced but was long thought to potentially have gone dead after the developer Wolfram von Funck went a big radio silence between updates. But that was all due to mental health issues, apparently, according to a recent blog post detailing his struggles. Now, we can look forward to a game launch following a quick closed beta for alpha players that will begin on September 23 – confirmed by Wolfram himself

The full version of the game will come with four different classes: Ranger, Mage, Rogue, and Warrior in addition to plenty of classic RPG trope features like combat, spells, magic, armor, weapons, potions, and more. There are also plenty of pets you can tame and fight alongside.

If this is something you're interested in playing, let us know in the comments below. It looks like a lot of fun, and we've heard that you can actually pet the animals you see in-game, which is obviously an awesome feature. Leave a comment below if you're going to be jumping in at the end of the month.
