First-person shooter fans who look fondly back on past 3D Realms games will be excited to check out Ion Fury, the latest FPS from the developers at Voidpoint. Already garnering praise from players and critics alike, the new release is an action-packed experience that doesn't require too much power to run, making it perfect for older PCs or for portable platforms. This leads us to the obvious question: Will Ion Fury release for the Nintendo Switch?

Is Ion Fury coming to the Nintendo Switch?

Yes, Ion Fury is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game made its PC debut through Steam on August 15, and Voidpoint plans to release it for the Nintendo Switch as well as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later in 2019.

With that said, there's currently no firm release date for Ion Fury on the Nintendo Switch. Only a tentative 2019 release window has been provided. Players who want to jump into the game now will have to play it first on PC via Steam.

Following the story of Shell "Bombshell" Harrison, Ion Fury is a first-person shooter presented in classic FPS style — fans of Duke 3D should feel right a thome. The game features complex levels with many hidden areas as well as all manner of "inhuman" adversaries to take out along the way. Ion Fury is indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch, we just don't know exactly when. The developers at Voidpoint have indicated that their new FPS game will launch for Switch, PS4, and Xbox One sometime later in 2019.
