It's been almost two months since Nintendo revealed what was next for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass. All has been quiet since E3 regarding Hero, the lead character from the Dragon Quest series. (Pick your favorite Hero, by the way.) So is Nintendo going to reveal anymore information about this new character prior to his release?

The answer came on Sunday night and it's a resounding yes. The Nintendo Versus Twitter account revealed that series director Masahiro Sakurai has quite a bit to say about Hero and how he'll play. Sakurai will take to Nintendo's YouTube channel this coming Tuesday, July 30 at 6AM PT for a 22-minute presentation. Expect information to come about Hero's various abilities, but with 22 minutes on the clock, look for more to come beyond that. Look for information about the upcoming Dragon Quest stage, as well as new information on Mii Fighter costumes. Maybe even expect some more info about the next big Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update and any potential new features.

Hero was first revealed during the Nintendo E3 Direct back in early June. Few details were issued at the time, but players could see that Hero would bring his sword into battle and utilize a slew of RPG-style options to go along with the Dragon Quest motif. Players will also have the option to use various palette swaps to get Heroes from other Dragon Quest games.

Expect Hero's release date to be announced imminently at this Tuesday's presentation. He'll come as part of the Fighter Pass DLC, which is available right now for $24.99. Shacknews will be here on Tuesday morning with all of the latest details. If you're looking for more information on Banjo-Kazooie, you'll have to wait. Remember that Rare's bear and bird combo aren't set to hit Super Smash Bros. Ultimate until this fall.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
