6:27AM - The Half-Life block

Hey you! Are you awake? Are you reading this as it goes up? Then you'd better switch it over to Twitch right now, because the Half-Life block is about to begin.

Yes, back when Valve was more about making games than running storefronts, they made an incredible pair of games that changed the landscape as everyone knew it. Half-Life and its sequel remain two of the greatest PC games ever made, so it's always fun to see a speedrunner break it to pieces. Be sure to check out both games this morning. It's sure to kill some time while Valve works on Half-Life 3.

12:34PM - The Mega Man block

It wouldn't be a Games Done Quick event without a block of games form the Blue Bomber. All-time classics Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3 are being run in the afternoon, but those will be followed by an exciting newcomer.

Yes, this is the first GDQ event where Mega Man 11 is eligible for a run. And this year's Summer Games Done Quick is wasting no time, with fastatcc and Qttsix racing through the game on PC.

4:03PM - Tetris Effect

Tetris Effect cracked our Game of the Year list last year for a reason. It's one of the most brilliant interpretations of a long-standing classic to come along in many years. Built for virtual reality, but just as gorgeous as a standalone game, Tetris Effect is an incredible experience and one that can be surprisingly challenging. With that said, HardDrop is going to attempt to run through Journey Mode on Expert and show just how easy the game can be when you're not wrapped up in the beautiful visuals.

Summer Games Done Quick 2019 will take place from now through Saturday, June 29. For more, check out the Games Done Quick website and be sure to watch all of the action from Twitch.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
