My Friend Pedro gets hilarious animated launch trailer

This raucous animated launch trailer really communicates the feel of what the violent My Friend Pedro is all about.

If you're looking for a game where a talking banana is your best buddy and directs you to commit acts of violence, My Friend Pedro should be right up your alley.

In advance of the game's official debut on June 20, Devolver Digital and developer Deadtoast Entertainment released a cheeky animated trailer showing off some of what you can expect from the game.

Number one: A sentient banana will tell you to kill people. How you pull that off is up to you. You can use split aiming, slow motion, and stylish moves to clear entire rooms full of enemies that want you dead, and it's awesome. It's all blood and gore, the sound of bullets tearing through a room, and some of the most stylish action you'll have ever seen on your Switch (or PC, if that's where you're playing).

Our own Blake Morse took the game for a spin at PAX West 2018. Here's what he thought of it:

"Players will be able to do things like leap through the air in slow motion while aiming at two targets, spin around like a crazed Michael Jackson to dodge bullets, and jump kick people in the head as they blaze through side-scrolling levels of murder room mayhem. At one point during the demo, I was even able to kick a frying pan into the air, go into slo-mo mode and shoot the frying in order to ricochet bullets into the enemies waiting on the platform above me. Then there was the boss fight involving a 2.5D motorcycle rampage through the streets of an unnamed city that culminated into a one-on-one shootout with a bomb-throwing butcher in a meat van."

That's about it in a nutshell. It only gets better from there, though. Look for my review ahead of the game's release tomorrow here on Shacknews. You're going to be in for a real treat. Just remember: That banana is definitely real and it's definitely your friend. It also really does talk. Promise.
