Monday's Square Enix Live E3 presentation continued with a look at a pair of exciting JRPGs, reviving a franchise that's been dormant for quite some time.
Square offered a first look at Romancing Saga 3, a continuation of a fan-favorite JRPG series. It is the first numbered Romancing Saga to release since 1993's Romancing Saga 2, released on the Super Famicom. Like that old-school title, Romancing Saga 3 retains the 16-bit sprites, offering a nostalgic aesthetic. In addition to turn-based battles, Square is touting that player decisions will affect the outcome of the adventure.
That's not all. There's a second Saga game coming soon called Saga Scarlet Grace Ambitions, one that takes the series into 3D.
Romancing Saga 3 is coming soon to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita (!), iOS, and Android. Saga Scarlet Grace Ambitions is coming soon to PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.
