FIFA 20 will offer players the chance to drop into street-oriented play thanks to the inclusion of Volta football.

Sports fans have been clamoring for a Volta football mode in FIFA, and EA Sports has heard the call. As revealed during the recent EA Play live stream event ahead of E3, FIFA 20 will introduce the world of street-style soccer with the game's Volta Football mode.

For those who may not be aware, Volta Mode looks to play out kind of like a FIFA Street game might. Players can don their casual clothes, customize their own avatars, and take to the paved field for a bit of 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 action.

According to the EA Play live stream presentation, customization is a big part of the new experience. Both male and female player avatars will be available, and players can custom-tailor everything from skin tone and hair style to clothing, tattoos, accessories, and more.

The features don't stop there. Athletes will be able to sync up with their friends for some squad play, take on the Volta story mode in single-player, or even go for broke with the new Volta League. It will even be possible to use pro athletes and teams through the Volta Kick-Off mode.

This news is a little bittersweet for Switch players, unfortunately, as it appears that the FIFA 20 Volta Football mode will only be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC Versions of the game. Like with past series releases, the Nintendo Switch will receive a "Legacy Edition" of FIFA 20 that doesn't offer all the latest bells and whistles.

Beyond Volta Football in FIFA 20, the reveals from EA are still coming in strong. Be sure to keep it locked to Shacknews' E3 2019 home page for all the biggest news, trailers, and gameplay reveals.
