It's the week before Valentine's Day and since many will be tied up next week with grand romantic gestures, that means it's time to get your gaming out of the way this weekend. Fortunately, there are some great games to check out and even a few free trials to check out.

Xbox Live Gold members will want to take notice of the Free Play Days weekend that's going down for a handful of major releases. Halo: The Master Chief Collection, in particular, should be an eye-opener. If your memory of this collection is limited to the game's launch, give it a second look, because a lot of the presentation has changed for the better.

Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 owners will want to check out this weekend's Flash Sale, which is headlined by last year's breakout VR/non-VR hit, Tetris Effect. The game is not only discounted this weekend, but there's also a free demo running right now. So give it a look! If that's not enough, this weekend also features the best from Ubisoft, including Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
