Dead or Alive 6 is the latest entry in the long-running fighting game series developed by Team Ninja. We've been waiting quite a long while for a new entry, so naturally we had some questions about what to expect.

Who better to ask than producer Yohei Shimbori? Our own Blake Morse had a brief chat with Shimbori-san about what we can look forward to with Dead or Alive 6. But first, how was the game's final roster decided?

"The final roster was decided based on the story. We thought about which characters would show up based on the story," Shimbori explained. But as far as his favorites from the two newbies added, Diego and NiCO?

"Based on the two new characters added to the game, out of Diego and Nico, my favorite would be NiCO. It was really interesting to make her moves. She also has electric attacks that she can use in battle."

For an interesting bit of trivia, Shimbori had referred to ensuring the game looked and "felt" cool in the past. We had to know more.

"With regard to DOA6 looking cool, even DOA5 was a very "cool" looking game." What does cool mean, though? We had to find out what Shimbori-san had to say about the matter.

"My image of cool is perseverance. As characters fight, even when they're losing, I can still win. That kind of feeling makes them cool. It's like devs too. We're fighting the game to get out to our fanbase."

Dead or Alive 6 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on March 1, 2019.
