The first major update to the Red Dead Online beta is all about the money. Not only is the team attempting to tackle concerns about weapon purchases and item selling, the team is rewarding players with RDO$250 and 15 gold bars if they play at any point up until midnight tonight, December 6, 2018.

One of the most glaring issues with the launch of the Red Dead Online beta is how minimal cash flow is. It's expectedly lower than the single-player campaign whether it comes from looting bodies or selling wares at vendors, but it is excruciatingly low. That concern is the foundation the things addressed by Rockstar in this first update. The full list from the press release is below:

  • Increasing the cash and gold payments across a number of different activities including Free Roam Missions, Free Roam Events, replays of A Land of Opportunities Missions, Showdown Series modes and more.
  • Reducing the prices of most weapons in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co Catalogue and Gunsmiths. For players that have already purchased weapons at the previous prices, we will automatically deposit the difference to player balances starting today - please look for an alert message the next time you log in to the Red Dead Online Beta to notify you of this change, refunds may take up until Monday, December 10th to reach all eligible players.
  • Balancing the values of select pelts, skins, and fish as well as horse reviver and pamphlets.

The RDO$250 and 15 gold bar gift offer lasts until midnight tonight and extends to all the players that have given the game a shot a least once, but I'd recommend signing in at least once today to make sure you lock in the gift. The two items will start going out today and all who qualify should receive the money and gold before Friday, December 14, 2018.
