It's time to enter the arena and battle, as Hearthstone marches towards Rastakhan's Rumble. This is the next expansion for Blizzard's collectible card game and the last one for the Year of the Raven.

While Shacknews learned some more about the expansion's new mechanics and some details about the Rumble Run single-player mode in our interview from BlizzCon, we also had a chance to chat with game designer Stephen Chang on camera. And being the resident WoW enthusiast, video producer Greg Burke asked about some of Rastakhan's Rumble's World of Warcraft origins. After reminiscing about Gurubashi's Arena, it was time to talk about improving from past mechanics.

"For this expansion, we're focusing heavily on the Loa, the Spirits, and the lore of these animal gods that each of the classes has," Chang told Shacknews. "And in addition, there's an associated Spirit that comes with the Loa and they synergize very well with each and can help drive specific decks."

Chang also discusses synergies, testing expansions, and explaining the expansion's concept to newcomers. For more interviews like this, be sure to subscribe to Shacknews and GamerHub.TV on YouTube.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
