Almost time to ride.

Saddle up, digital cowboys. Red Dead Redemption 2, arguably 2018's biggest game launch, is nearly upon us. In the latest trailer, Rockstar Game sets the stage for the release by showing off the heist-gone-wrong that sets Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang on their way

The new trailer gives us a quick peek at the story for this open-world western adventure and Red Dead Redemption 2 features a 60-hour campaign, by the way. Taken from the press release for the new video, here's the official synopsis for Red Dead Redemption 2:

America, 1899. The end of the Wild West era has begun. After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.

The game takes place at the dawn of the modern age and Red Dead Redemption 2 features women "no longer constrained by society". Players will have a massive area to explore, filled with lots of content that will shape Arthur and the gang's future.  There are mini-games, bounty hunts, duels, romantic relationships, and more built upon an experience with light survival elements like managing your appearance, keeping Arthur fed, cleaning weapons, and the like.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches October 26, 2018, on PS4 and Xbox One. In November, Red Dead Online will go live in beta test form. Sharing the wealth in-house, Rockstar Games is offering up GTA$1,000,000 for players that preorder the game as well. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
