PSA: Join Shacknews and Pillars of Eternity developer Obsidian for a Reddit AMA at 5pm ET / 2pm PT

Hop over to Reddit and ask 'Beneath a Starless Sky' author David L. Craddock and developers from Obsidian anything about the Pillars of Eternity franchise, RPG development, writing and being interviewed for the book--anything at all!

Last Friday, Shacknews published Beneath a Starless Sky: Pillars of Eternity and the Infinity Engine Era of RPGs, my latest Long Read feature, and the longest Long Read yet at nearly 500 pages. I couldn't have written the Long Read (aka book) without full participation from the Pillars of Eternity creators at Obsidian, who made the team available to me for over 40 hours of interviews.

I asked them loads of questions in the eight months I spent researching and writing Beneath a Starless Sky. Today, it's your turn. I'll be co-hosting a Reddit AMA over on r/IAmA with several developers from Obsidian at 5pm Eastern / 2pm Pacific, roughly 45 minutes from now. Joining me will be Executive Producer, Lead Programmer, and Shacker Adam "Jabby" Brennecke; Narrative Designers Kate Dollarhyde and Paul Kirsch; PR Manager and wrestling super-fan Mikey Dowling; Lead Artist Kaz Aruga; and Audio Director Justin Bell.

The AMA is live, so pop over and ask your questions ahead of time, and share the AMA link with your family, friends, and followers on social media.

After you've left a question or two, why not catch up on some reading and watching? Beneath a Starless Sky is available to read FOR FREE right here on Shacknews. We've also got a 75-minute video interview, the first in our Shacknews Long Table series of video panels; and the inaugural episode of 24 'Til Launch, a recurring series of documentary-style interviews that embed Shacknews editors with developers in the hours before a game's launch. In this case, we hung out at Obsidian the day before, and the day of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire's launch this past May.
