Red Dead Redemption 2 photo mode with selfie portrait option confirmed

Players will be able get creative in the Wild West after earning camera gear in a mission.

If you're one of the many people that have enjoyed the picture modes recently featured in Tomb Raider, God of War, and, most notably, Spider-Man, you're in for a treat this October. Rockstart is including a selfie camera mechanic in Red Dead Redemption 2 at launch.

Gamespot got hands-on time with Red Dead Redemption 2 and, during one of the missions, the player is given a camera. Once received, the player was allowed to take it out any time. The camera features multiple modes, but the biggest one of the note is the "self-portrait" mode for the all-popular selfie. It doesn't have the character's arm stretched out like a classic selfie, but does show the character from a distance.
