Isabelle crosses into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate along with new Nintendo Switch bundle

Isabelle is taking some time out from Animal Crossing to battle it out with her Nintendo brethren.

Thursday's Nintendo Direct offered something special for Super Smash Bros. fans. The latest fighter has been introduced and it's a fan-favorite for all Animal Crossing fans.

Isabelle joins the Animal Crossing Villager as the latest representative from the game to join the roster. Like the Villager before her, Isabelle can be seen implementing her own Animal Crossing arsenal against the Smash Bros. roster. She is likely coming in as an Echo Fighter for the Villager character. (Update: The official Super Smash Bros. website has Isabelle listed, but not as an Echo Fighter, meaning she will come in with her own distinct move set and arsenal.)

This is in addition to another Smash-related reveal involving a new Nintendo Switch bundle. This bundle will include a Switch dock that's decked out with the original Smash Bros. roster, as well as Smash-themed Joy-Con controllers.

The Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Switch bundle is set to release on November 2, as will the GameCube Controller and adapter. That's still a month before Super Smash Bros. Ultimate releases, but anyone who picks up the Switch bundle will get a download code for the game, so they'll be ready for its December 7 release date.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
