PAX West 2018: Anthem demo arrives in early February

If you've pre-ordered Anthem or have EA Access, get ready for the game's demo to hit weeks before the big release date in February.

PAX West continued on Saturday with new footage from EA and BioWare's next major blockbuster release, Anthem. The "Anthem: Our World, My Story" panel kicked off with a new video that further helped explain how the world operates and what players can expect. A demo date was also revealed along the way.

The opening video made sure to emphasize that players would develop their personal stories along the way. This includes consequences, based on player choices. Choices will vary across quests taken, with players presented paths that diverge depending on characters they meet, how those characters are treated, and the different actions they take over the course of the story. (Before going any further, no, there was no mention of romantic options.)

Look for the Anthem demo to arrive on February 1 for anyone who has the game on pre-order. It'll also be open to all EA Access members. That'll be just enough time to get a feel for the game before the whole thing hits PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 22.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
