H.P. Lovecraft fans have much reason for joy, as Focus Home Interactive’s newest horror-adventure Call of Cthulhu inches closer to release. While the game initially popped up on our radar back in late 2016, its impending release brings us a fresh look at the game in motion. During last week’s Gamescom event, Call of Cthulhu got an all-new gameplay trailer that shows off the game’s creepy vibe during an investigation inside Hawkins Manor.

The trailer follows the investigation of Edward Pierce into the murders of the Hawkins family. It takes about ten seconds before the ominous presence of the Old Ones is felt. Things go from zero to maximum spooky in a very short period of time. Development on Call of Cthulhu is being handled by Cyanide, who took over for Frogswares back in early 2016. We had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Cyanide’s Diane Quenet and Romain Wiart during E3 about how the game was shaping up and it left us excited for what’s to come this fall.

Focus Home Interactive is preparing Call of Cthulhu for release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 30. It should be a nice Halloween treat for fans of cosmic horror and mystery games.
