Gato Salvaje Studio announces new medieval fantasy RPG The Waylanders

Upcoming Gato Salvaje Studio release The Waylanders offers party-based RPG play in both isometric and third-person perspectives.

Previously known for PC titles like Bullshot, AR-K, and AR-K: The Great Escape, indepedent game developer Gato Salvaje is aiming to break into medieval-based fantasy RPG territory with an all-new release titled The Waylanders. The team appears to be pulling out all the stops with the new experience, which includes tapping on the talents of Mike Laidlaw, formerly of Bioware, to help out as the game's Narraive and Creative Consultant. According to a press release for the game, The Waylanders is "a fantasy RPG inspired by beloved classics such as Dragon Age: Origins, Neverwinter Nights 2, and even a smidge of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." The pitched key features for the game include real-time combat with a tactical pause feature, 36 different job classes, 12 different combat formations, and the option to shift between isometric and third-person viewpoints.

We don't know too much else about The Waylanders so far, but the team at Gato Salvaje intend to have the game release for Windows PCs in the first quarter of 2020, and more information can be found over on the official Gato Salvaje website.
