Slurp Juice Pulled From Fortnite Following Buff in Update 5.10 Patch

Recently buffed Fortnite healing item Slurp Juice has been removed from the game, with Epic Games stating they're working on a fix.

Fortnite just keeps on changing, and game fans can be forgiven for having trouble keeping up with the latest developments. In the recent update version 5.10 patch, the crew at Epic Games introduced new birthday challenges and the return of the Playground LTM, but one of the smaller tweaks was a distinct buff to Slurp Juice that had the item focus first on restoring health before restoring the player's shield. However, it seems that buff didn't exactly work out as intended, and Epic has disabled the item in-game while they work on a fix.

For right now, players really don't have any clear indication of just what the problem with Slurp Juice was. However, we do have the patch notes from the update version 5.10, and we can at least see the recent changes made to the consumable item:

• Slurp Juice now grants 1 health every 0.5 seconds, up to a total of 75. If health is full, shield will be granted instead.
• Slurp Juice [supply drop loot rate increased] to 11.25% from 5.11%
• Increased Chug Jug and Slurp Juice spawn chances, decreased Bandages.

Some of the inspiration behind the buffs to Slurp Juice actually come from the Fortnite subreddit, where users suggested that the item first restore health, then restore shield as opposed to providing one point to both health and shield per second. The suggestion apparently found a fan in Epic Games representative Jshredz, and an altered version of the pitched buff was included in the latest patch.
