Fortnite Welcomes Thanos In Avengers: Infinity War Limited Time Crossover Event

The superhero themed fourth season has attracted the attention of a Titan.

It looks like Fortnite's superhero-themed fourth season is getting an incredibly powerful and popular villain added to the fray. Starting on May 8, 2018, Thanos is headed to Fortnite in a Fortnite/Avengers limited time crossover event.

Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel and Disney's milestone movie 10 years in the making, is accumulating massive amounts of money in the box office. Entertainment Weekly reports that, during its creation, co-directors and brothers Joe and Anthony Russo took breaks by playing matches of Fortnite. Joe Russo started to ponder an Avengers/Fortnite mashup and decided to make a call to Donald Mustard, Epic Games' Worldwide Creative Director.

“Out of the blue, I get this call from Joe. And after a bit of geeking out over each other’s work, we start brainstorming these crazy ideas,” Mustard said to EW. “It was really important that whatever we did, it had to be super authentic to both Fortnite and the Avengers: Infinity War, and something that fans of both would be excited about. About an hour later, we had the bones of this awesome idea for a limited time gameplay mode, and almost immediately our team got started.”

Fortnite has been home to a collection of limited time events, such as the 50v50 Battle Royale event, but none have had branding like this. Fortnite and Infinity War are two of the most popular pieces of media in entertainment right now and this partnership could be a sign of things to come in future Fortnite updates. I can see your complaints. It was awkward for me at first too.

Weird. Shooting feels much more natural to me than pubg did. Have noticed nothing unusual about the camera.

Building seems intimidating to new players because it's "different" than other shooters. But it becomes second nature and is a pretty fun addition.

I played for a long time without doing much building. Now I'm starting to do some basic building and it's helping. It's all about getting more comfortable with the setup. I like the reset building choice option because I'm always back on a wall. If I need something else I know how many clicks it takes to get over to it (on Xbox One).
