The meteor has hit and new gameplay elements have been introduced to Epic Games's free-to-play survival shooter.

Fans of Fortnite have been braced for impact for most of April and season 4 has finally landed. In Battle Royale, the battlefield now features gravity-defying Hop Rocks and a plethora of other cool things that players will be discovering over time. The Season 4 Battle Pass also introduces 100 tiers of new rewards, including new skins, emotes, and sprays.

The full patch notes for Fortnite update v4.0 can be found on Epic's official website. There are new cities created in the aftermath of the comet's impact, including Dusty Divot, Risky Reels, and more. It turns out Tilted Towers wasn't the place headed for a big change. Gamerant reports the new Dusty Divot is the result of a comet hitting Dusty Depot, which is something a Redditor predicted.

Not only has Battle Royale experienced some drastic changes, players of Save The World have a new mission: Save Ray. The new questline, called Blockbuster! Part 1, starts off with five new quests and one landmark mission. Ray is missing and you'll team up with Spitfire and Lok to investigate the comet, team up with superheroes, and bring her back home.

This story is still developing. Stay tuned as we add more updates on the Fortnite Battle Pass, footage from season 4 of Battle Royale and Save The World, and video footage of the new areas that have been created due to the comet's aftermath.
