Call of Duty remains one of the most popular franchises in all of gaming and 2017’s entry, Call of Duty: WW2, managed to sell like gangbusters, despite middling reviews. WW2 marks the series’ return to its Great War roots, while managing to retain the frantic multiplayer style that made it a household name back in 2007 with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This weekend, PC players can get an up close and personal look at WW2’s multiplayer portion during a free trial on Steam.

Those who give the shooter a spin will be able to progress through the multiplayer mode with no limitations. At the end of the free trial period (May 6 at 1pm PDT), all progression can be carried over to the full game if players elect to buy the game. Additionally, all unlockables and inventory will carry over into the paid version.

To celebrate this free weekend of Call of Duty: WW2 multiplayer, publisher Activision is offering discounts on the various digital editions of the game via the Steam storefront. The following discounts will be valid until May 7:

  • Call of Duty: WW2 – 35% Discount
  • Call of Duty: WW2 Digital Deluxe Edition – 25% Discount
