PAX East 2018: Trailblazers Gameplay and Interview: Paint With All The Colors Of The Wind

We rev up our engines and go toe-to-toe with some intergalactic space racers in our hands-on demo and interview of the soon-to-be-released Trailblazers.

As some may recall from my previous coverage of Trailblazers it's an upcoming racer that looks to combine racing elements from classic arcade-style titles like F-Zero with the painting-your-territory concept behind Splatoon. Players will take on the role of an intergalactic racer and team up with a squad to try to outscore and outrun their opponents. In order to get the high score and place first, teams will paint the track and provide a consistent trail for their partners to race along which can help in creating combo opportunities for drifts and maxed out speed boosts.

Our head honcho Asif Khan got a chance to sit down with a member of the Trailblazers team to try the game out for himself firsthand and see if it satiated his desire for a new F-Zero. Along the way, Asif learns the ins and outs of this unique racing title as he takes his turn behind the wheel. You can check out the video below for a glimpse at the racing and painting mechanics that are looking to make Trailblazers a very special title in its genre.

Be sure to check out all our PAX 2018 coverage as well as all our interview and gameplay demos from the show on our YouTube channel. It's also probably not a bad idea to hit up our Twitch channel and subscribe so you can catch future event coverage live as it happens.

Trailblazers is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this coming May.
