Dead by Daylight Wants to Play a Game with 'The SAW Chapter'

Rise and shine, Shackers. You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you die in.

Dead by Daylight is certainly no stranger to mainstream crossovers. In the past, Starbreeze and Behaviour's October events have featured such horror icons as Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger. But on Tuesday, players are being asked if they would like to play a game.

"The SAW Chapter" makes its debut today, based on the popular horror movie franchise. This DLC pack adds Amanda Young in the role of The Pig as a new Killer character. She's recognized as one of Jigsaw's earliest victims, who later grows to become his apprentice. She comes with the ability to place reverse bear traps on Survivors, which only gives them a limited time to escape before it goes off. Police officer David Tapp debuts as a new Survivor character, as he looks to bring down The Pig in the new Gideon Meat Plant map.

The Saw Chapter is now available on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 for $6.99. But if this puts anyone in the mood to watch SAW, a Steam bundle is set to go up later today that includes the DLC and the first movie in the series.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
