NWC 2017 Super Mario Maker Course Now on Wii U

Anyone that watched the Super Mario Maker stage of the Nintendo World Championships 2017 is now welcome to try that stage out for themselves on the Wii U version of the game.

Twenty-four competitors entered the Nintendo World Championships 2017, but only three of them made it all the way to the Super Mario Maker stage of the competition. Those three faced off in a custom Super Mario Maker course created by the team at Nintendo Treehouse. That course is now available to anyone that owns the Wii U version of Super Mario Maker.

Unlike the Super Mario Maker courses that debuted in the Nintendo World Championships 2015, this course takes advantage of the game's later updates. So it features bumpers, red coins, and checkpoint flags.

To access the NWC 2017 course, hit the "Events" tab on the Super Mario Maker main menu. For those who have already forgotten how this course plays out, let's watch the video below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
