According to representatives of 4mm Games, these new screenshots from its hip-hop karaoke game Def Jam Rapstar are meant to illustrate "sleek in-game elements" and "cutting edge community features." If you ask me though, the real star here is celery.
Helmed by Rockstar veterans, Rapstar is due this winter on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

Still not sure what to make of The Old Republic? After watching 20 minutes of this walkthrough from the recent GamesCom convention, you'll probably have a pretty good idea of where you stand.
Of course, The Old Republic is BioWare's upcoming Star Wars MMO. The focus with this one is on creating a more singleplayer-like experience, while still including all of the standard MMO trappings. Read more »

LucasArts gives us a peek at The Force Unleashed's Hoth mission with this new batch of screenshots. The mission will be included exclusively in the upcoming Sith Edition of the game, and sees the player traveling to the ice planet to do battle with Luke Skywalker in a bit of Sith revisionist history.
The Sith Edition hits this holiday on PC, Mac, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Sony has revealed its expectations to the release the new PlayStation 3 Motion Control peripheral, which it claims will provide "true 1:1 tracking" and "true 3D pointing" when used in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye camera, in the spring of 2010.
"We are slating it for spring of next year," Sony executive Kazuo Hirai told Times Online when asked about the device during GamesCom last week. "One of the things is that we just don't want to put out the controller. We need a great software that supports the controller at launch. New Red Steel 2 screenshots and a walkthrough video narrated by creative director Jason VandenBerghe unveil unseen features and introduce additions to Ubisoft Paris's Wii shooter since it was last shown at E3, including attack combos and ninja enemies.

Medieval multiplayer mayhem is the order of the day in a new trailer for indie developer TaleWorlds' Warband expansion to its PC warfare action RPG Mount & Blade.
Arriving later in the year, Warband will add 64-player multiplayer with several modes, along with updated graphics, a new faction, and improvements to diplomacy and AI.

At least two downloadable content batches surprising in content and speed of release will hit Gearbox's Diablo-esque shooter Borderlands, according to CEO Randy Pitchford.
"People are going to be surprised when they find out how quickly we're coming, and with what content we're coming," Eurogamer reports Pitchford saying in a Gamescom presentation. The latest delivery from GamesCom 2009 comes in the form of a several new screenshots for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, due on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.
Originally announced without the Castlevania branding, Lords of Shadow is being developed by Cliver Barker's Jericho veterans Mercury Steam, with Metal Gear Solid 4 developer Kojima Productions somehow helping "give birth" to the action game.
