Crysis: all gfx meh gameplay

Look you don't market shoot-dudes-in-the-face games with pretentious melancholy tunes. Setting Gears of War to Mad World was eyerollingly stupid, likewise setting some random not particularly engaging motion graphics of your wanky futuristic skisuit to strings is lame.

But then I haven't been wide-eyed excited about a shoot-dudes-in-the-face game since... forever.

I loved both crysis games and I don't understand why they got such a bad rep from so many people. Most people who said bad things about it seem to have never played it were just taking pot shots at it for the hell of it. I think it's funny how everyone seemed to be greatly anticipating it and everyone was very impressed by the media. that practically flowed out in the few months up until release. When the game, came out however, and people could now be content and play this great game that they had been looking forward to for so long.. they chewed it out. People claimed that is was all graphics and no gameplay. Yeah, that's exactly how it works, batman. If a game has excellent graphics, it can't have excellent gameplay too.. right? Personally, I think many people are incapable of being content. Even if god created the perfect game for them, they would still bag on it. Many people have the need to complain about games, because... just hear me out here... it compensates for frustrations in their life.

That said, I am greatly looking forward to crysis 2. Still, it's more than clear that it's been dumbed down for the consoles. Just look at those shots. Crysis's intro was prerender quality and this stuff just seems so.. average.

Personally, I feel that the most significant area that they could improve is the weapons. They were nice, but it would be nice if they could get more creative... You know maybe bring in some Future Weapons influences with next gen smart weaponry. Performance was a huge complaint agains the original crysis and I think they hammered that out with Warhead. People need to stop expecting to be able to max out a game like crysis on their radeon 9800. No one can help you if you refuse to keep up to date with the tech curve. I have an 8800 gtx and 4 gigs of ram and I can run crysis warhead with everything maxed out except shadows and post processing (1680x1050) at a steady 40 fps. Someone has to push the power of the PC eventually. PC gamers always harp on about how the PC has better hardware than the consoles, but when a game comes out that actually leverages this superior hardware, they get all pissy.

I cant see Crysis 2 being as good as the first, it will be dumbed down and scaled back for consoles.

I felt that the first Crysis wasn't open enough. It'd be nice if Crysis 2's levels were more open, but since it's being made for consoles as well, I'm not so sure.

I hope they have a city in this one. Jungles and caves are cool, but they all kind of look the same after a while.

Both the games were awesome and Crysis Wars is fantastic. More people should play that. Seriously people wine about this meanwhile look at the quality of other FPS coming out. Looking forward to Crysis 2.

People hate on Crysis because of one simple reason: they can't play it how they want to, sometime not at all. Crysis has the most finesse and attention to detail of any game Ive ever seen. In what other game can you rip a hole in a wall using the body of your enemy, then vault over the top as the ones inside look on in confusion, then decimate then from behind by instantly fitting a silencer on your weapon, all without them even knowing?

NONE. Plus what game looks as good? NONE. Crysis 2 will leave every other game in the dust graphically and immersively when it comes out, just like Crysis did before.

I can't really tell a difference between the old suit and the new one...

Bought Crysis and Warhead for PC, liked them both - cept the alien bullshit in the later half of Crysis. Warhead had a better mix of aliens and NK's though. Here's hoping it doesn't get spayed for consoles.

Bring better multiplayer, the game has great potential, tried both crysis and warhead and was disappointed with the multiplayer

Crytek people certainly push their imagination in the brochure, some of the "specs" are fun, awesome, or even scary...

I wonder if those characteristics will reflect in the final gamplay :).

This suit is not cool looking. It looks... like muscles, kind of just weird looking. I cannot tell much of a difference from the old one either, except for it being prettier.

As someone who dabbles in 3D modeling I must say this mesh is damn impressive.

Just want to point out that in the bottom video the loggin username is Nomad, probably hinting that you play as Nomad again. You guys probably already saw it, but I just felt the urge to point out the obvious.

Sounds like Crytek are going balls out with this, can't wait to see more.

Crysis was mostly an awsome game so will buy for sure
