I took a screenshot of what the ads were in Chrome at the time but I'm not sure it's enough. I added a new thing to the Google Chrome Shack Extension that prompts people when they change pages using onbeforeunload, but I can't really know if it'll stop that ad from doing its thing again until (unless?) it happens again.
I'll upload the updated extension to the Google Code page if anyone else wants to keep the Developer Tools window open and run the new version.

Replace the ads with google adwords, or remove them entirely.
Sure it'll cause a net loss for the site for a while, but it's better than driving users away, or worse, opening up gamefly to liability for serving malware to users.
The point of entry of this malware is shacknews.com. Frankly, it's irrelevant that the ad company is responsible for the malware, because shacknews.com is getting paid to host these malevolent ads.
From the point of the users, this is shacknews / gamefly's fault, and no one elses.
