Morning Discussion
by Xav de Matos, Jan 25, 2011 5:00am PSTVacation's over. I really enjoyed my time away from work, exploring some of the great spots buried within Chicago. It was a hectic time in the city due to the face-off between the Bears and the Pack. It didn't turn out well for Bears fans.
What did turn out well was Never Not Funny, live at the Congress Theater. The show was hilarious as usual, Daver sang the theme and the crew sang along at the end. As an added bonus, I had the pleasure of meeting the crew. What a classy group of gentlemen.
Well, it's back to work for me. Next time I'll be sure to remember to take more than two days off. Maybe.

As I walk up the stairs I hear the door to their apartment open, someone looked around then slammed it shut so hard they nearly broke the damn thing. Almost like a "STFU OUT THERE" sort of message. It's fucking 7:00. Are you kidding me? IN THE STAIRWELL.
I nearly turned around and knocked to ask wtf, but thought better of it. Why fight with the neighbours...it will only end badly.

We had some assholes that moved in next to us in our last apt that would get bent over a louder movie (still well within acceptable levels and like 7-8pm) or when we had people over and there was laughing or excessive talking in the hallway.
Once we had the cops called on us and they showed up while the movie was still playing. Officer came in and asked if we had it any louder than that, I said no, he said have a nice day and that he was sorry to bother us and to enjoy the movie as he had just seen it the night before and it was a good one.
A couple of other times the Manager came and knocked and asked us to turn the bass down as she had complaints. I let her in and showed her that there wasn't even a subwoofer hooked up, but that I could very easily hear theirs on occasion, but i never bothered to complain. She told my Wife later that we weren't the only ones they were complaining about and that she was sorry that she ever rented to them. Apparently they lost their home and this was the first apartment they had lived in.
